Happy Hour Cocktail Crawl!

Given that we now feel old at university, Sophie and I decided we should at least do something on Friday night, but couldn't handle 'a dip in the Ocean' so had our own, quieter night. We did still hit the town, just not quite as big, or as late, as everyone else would have done. Home by 10:30 was perfect!

We got our glad rags on, heels and makeup and hopped on the bus (the best transport around Nottingham when it's still early!) in to the city centre. We rocked up at Bad Juju Tiki Bar (twice in one week, and I said we don't go out much) for their happy hour. Unforutnately as it was Friday Mario Kart was replaced by a DJ set so we didn't get to try that out. I went for a raspberry daiquiri and Soph picked the ginger mojito, which turned out to have quite a kick and not because of the alcohol.

Next stop, Dino Wine Bar at Sophie's request, but their happy hour was over... so they told us to go to their sister bar just across the road (ish), Pepper Rocks. Obviously we did. The two of us both want people to take us on dates there now, it was really cute and cosy, with an outdoor seating area which would have been great if it wasn't threatening rain, They also have a crêperie! I think they need to invest in larger jars of Nutella, that's what gives them that French edge. We managed to get the sofas as another group left, slightly greedy of us to sit where there must have been space for about 8, but we were bored of perching on stools.

Our final stop of the night was Coco Tang - we couldn't not! It is a well destination for good drinks and unbelievably skilled bar staff, how on earth they remember all the cocktail recipes is beyond me. They have a really extensive cocktail menu and have got to be some of the best in Notts, so I chose 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', a mix of mango (I think! Maybe peach, it was orange at least...), chocolate strawberry vodka, and a hollowed out passionfruit floating on top, filled with prosecco. I wasn't quite sure how to go about drinking that, and ended up just tipping the prosecco in and nibbling on the bit of passionfruit that hadn't quite been scraped out! Their website is currently under construction so have a look on Twitter or Facebook instead.
The bar - and that's only some of the spirits lined up!

There was apparently a recurring theme in the glasses I was given that night!
We stepped out from under ground in t the rain, yuk yuk yuk, and got a bit soggy while waiting for the bus. We were also asked which halls we were in, I felt old to reply 'Yeah, we're fourth years...'. I mean, why else would we be heading home at 10:30?! The best thing about a happy hour bar crawl? A grand total of £13.20 spent, including transport. Pas mal du tout! It may have to be done again.
